| About the current showroom |
Buy Now:
Every Goldfish will have a "Buy Now"
amount. Even if the Goldfish is being Bid on, you may buy the Goldfish at anytime for that amount as long as the "Buy Now" button appears. Once a Goldfish is bought "Buy Now", the Goldfish will disappear from the site.
Note:
Sometime during the "Bidding" the "Buy Now" button will disappear.
Bidding:
Bids must be entered in whole dollars. You must increase the current bid by at least $5.00. When you are out Bid you will receive an e-mail.
Ceiling Bids:
A Ceiling Bid is when you enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for a Goldfish in the bid box, so that you do not have to watch the Auction every minute in order to increase your bid. The Auction Software monitors the Goldfish for you and bids in your behalf until you have either won the item or until another bidder places a bid higher than the amount you set in the system.
To increase your Ceiling Bid amount, simply place another bid in the bid box for a higher amount than your original bid. This will let our system know that you are raising your Ceiling Bid bid. When you are out Bid you will receive an e-mail.
- Your bid is raised only when someone else tries to place a higher bid.
- Your bid is raised only by the minimum amount necessary so that you are not out-bid.
- Your bid is never raised above your "Ceiling Bid" you specified.
Your "Ceiling Bid" does not necessarily mean that is what you will pay for the fish.
Exp:
If Jake places a bid for $30.00 and you place a "Ceiling Bid" of $100.00, the software will raise your bid to $35.00, then Jake bids $40.00 the software will raise your bid to $45.00, then, if no one else bids, you bought the fish for $45.00 not $100.00.
What are the Benefits of Ceiling Bids?
There are several reasons why you might want to use a Ceiling Bid.
- The auctions end at a fixed date and time. Without a Ceiling Bid, you could lose out to another bidder who raises you at the very last second of the auction, even when you were willing to pay higher to win the lot.
- Sometimes, you are unable to visit the auction when it is scheduled to end. You could be stuck at work, on vacation, keep getting a busy trying to dial into your ISP, be in the middle of a good movie (or book). By placing a Ceiling Bid, you guarantee that you will win the lot without being there (assuming no one out-bids your Maximum Bid).
- Ceiling Bids are a time saver. You know how much you are willing to pay for a lot. So why spend the time and energy placing higher and higher bids on the same lot, when the software can do it for you?
- The auction software immediately sends you an out-bid e-mail message when a bid is raised by someone else. But internet e-mail is not that reliable. Sometimes you get it late, the day after the auction ends, or not at all.
Reserve:
Some Goldfish will have a "Reserve", which means, the Goldfish will not be sold unless the "Reserve" price is met. Once the "Reserve" is met, the "Reserve" will disappear from the picture.
End of Auction:
This Auction begins and ends by the time and date set on the Auction Site. The time zone used on this site is MST.
